Proportion comes before decoration.
A well-proportioned room often feels right before you notice why. Moulding that is too small can disappear; a profile that is too large can overwhelm the space. The right scale brings walls, ceiling and lighting together, so the detail feels like a natural part of the room.
A starting point for the conversation
These are our approximate design starting points for interior mouldings, not universal rules or building-code requirements.

Higher spaces may call for larger details, depending on the room. These ranges are not dimensions assigned to the LC collection, and “size” should be clarified against the chosen product’s measured section rather than assumed to mean face height or projection.
Look at the room, then the profile
Ceiling height is only one influence. Room width, furniture, windows, existing trim and the profile’s shape affect how large it appears. Light-cove placement and the gap above the moulding also change the balance.
Hold a sample or full-size section at the intended position and look from across the room. Judge the detail with the lights off as well as on. A simpler profile at the right scale can feel more convincing than an elaborate profile that is poorly proportioned.
